Following the road to Oban and Glencoe

 Day 9 Wednesday 24th April

Wow what a fantastic day it’s been! Glorious sunshine all day and fabulous scenery as we drove all along Loch Long and Loch Fyne.

I was so excited as we were able to go to the original Loch Fyne oyster bar. We have been to several Loch Fyne restaurants but never the original until today! It did not disappoint and the food was absolutely delicious and we had amazing views 🥰

After brunch we carried on along the coast road to our next stop at Inveraray. It was so lovely there we parked up and had a look around the harbour. Unfortunately Inveraray Castle was closed but we were still able to walk around the outside and take photos. Fabulous place!

Dex made friends with a couple of Schnauzers and their mum gave Dex some of their doggy ice cream. Not sure they were too happy though! 🤣

Dex making more friends 🥰
John recognised this boat called Vital Spark as she used to feature in a comedy TV series with the same name. Back in the seventies!

Brucie enjoyed his visit to the castle 😁

After Inveraray we travelled on towards Lochgilphead.

We stopped here for coffee and cakes which we had bought in the Loch Fyne deli. Absolutely delicious 😋

Then onwards towards Oban.
We stopped when we saw some standing stones in a field near Kilmartin and went to have a closer look.

Then onwards once more, following the coastal road A816.

We drove through Oban on our way to our next campsite near Glencoe.

Across the bridge at Connel.
More beautiful scenery following the road around Loch Creran and Loch Linnhe.

Finally arrived at the Bunree campsite on Loch Linnhe. We are in between Glencoe and Fort William. Fantastic site with amazing views.

It was cold after the sun went behind the clouds but we were determined to sit outside and take in the views. We were the only ones sat outside though! 🤣
