A day in Wick

 Monday 2nd September Day 16

It had rained overnight and was now grey and overcast. We had a lazy morning then walked Dex along the river path into Wick. Only about a mile.

Wick St Fergus Church.

There were beautiful flower displays everywhere.

We had lunch in the Mackays Hotel. Cullen skink soup and sandwiches and Irish coffees afterwards 😋

Mackays hotel is situated on the World’s shortest street.

They had a good whisky selection too!

After lunch John walked Dex back to the campsite and I went off for a mooch around the shops. Nothing much in Wick really but I did find a couple of charity shops and bought a scarf. Also bought a cute fairy door in a gift shop for £2! Bargain 🤣

On the way back to camp John found this interesting plaque.

It was pouring down by the time I left town and my feet got soaked as there were massive puddles everywhere.

It was warm and cosy in the van and we all settled in for a quiet afternoon.
