Falkirk to Lothianbridge

 Monday 16th September. Day 30.

We woke to a lovely sunny day and treated ourselves to a lie in at the hotel. We decided against breakfast (it wasn’t included and we were still full from last night!)

We set off for Callendar House and Park. Unfortunately no car parking space for the Motorhome so John had to stay with the van whilst I walked Dex.

It was a glorious day. The house looked lovely. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Callendar_House

There was a wee loch that we walked around.

We set off again heading towards Edinburgh. You may have noticed that we haven’t visited the big cities and we wouldn’t be going into the centre of Edinburgh either. It’s just too busy and stressful with a Motorhome and Dex. We will come back and do the cities another time, ideally by train.

We reached our site at Lothianbridge. It was right under the viaduct! We were meeting up with our friend Mo who lives about 5 miles from here.

We had time for a G & T sat in the sunshine.

Later Dex and I found some woods to walk in. Lady Lothian’s plantation.

Later we met up with Mo at the Sun Inn across the road.

John had sea bass with sautéed potatoes.

Mo and I had fish pie which was delicious and full of fish.

Lemon tart for Mo

Chocolate brownie with baileys ice cream for me! 😋

Cheese and biscuits for Mr Brookes.

It was wonderful to catch up with Mo, can’t believe it’s been 5 years since I was last in Edinburgh! We had a lovely evening together.

Back at camp the rabbits were out in force! I counted 10, you can see a few eyes in this picture 😁
