Tayport

 Wednesday 11th September. Day 25

We woke to sunny skies and decided to explore Tayport our nearest town. We set off on foot with Dex.

We walked along the coast path towards the harbour.

We saw a lot of redstarts feeding on the shoreline, easily identified by their orange red legs.

There was also an Oyster Catcher.

Tayport has so much interesting history and we saw lots of information boards as we walked around the town.

There was an old harbour as well as the larger newer one.

Whilst we were looking to see the way into the town centre we met a man jogging who directed us to his wife’s cafe which was dog friendly. We headed off to find it. It was brilliant! They were so friendly and welcoming and the food was all made on the premises and absolutely delicious 😋

John had a pork and black pudding sausage roll with coleslaw and potato salad.

I had a fabulous spinach, wild mushroom and Brie quiche.

They made Dex a puppachino! Basically squirty cream and a couple of dog treats. He was very happy. They also brought him a bowl of water. Everyone was so friendly and chatty in the cafe. We have found that people in Scotland are really friendly and welcoming and like to chat. Especially when you have a dog!

The cakes and brownies were amazing and we bought some to take away.

The school.

War memorial.

The library.

In the evening we went to Cobbies Inn which had been recommended to us by the campsite warden Bob.

It didn’t disappoint! John had a wonderful steak pie and mash.

I had smoked cod and chorizo linguine which was delicious. 😋

Followed by sticky toffee pudding and ice cream!

John had warm chocolate fudge cake and ice cream.
Good job we were walking home!! 🤣🤣
